We have arrived in Puntarenas, Costa Rica! We arrived at around 0600. Mooring stations were called and the cadets assisted with tying up to the pier. As you can see in the photo there is a lot more to do very close to the ship so everyone will enjoy themselves right near the ship. The talked about plan for the day is either to go to the beach and go swimming or go explore the rain forest!
Since the weather is perfect – few clouds, hot temperatures and a light breeze, many cadets and crew headed to Jaco Beach for a new adventure in this beautiful part of the world.
Until then,
Courtney

It is know for some of the best surfing in Costa Rica, With big waves and great breaks, conditions are just right for a great ride. Even though professional surfers love Jaco’s waves, even newbies can sign up for surf lessons at many surf schools along the beach.

Golden Sand |
Back on shore, the nearly two-mile beach offers a long stretch of golden sand that is especially clean and inviting. The waves are a little rough for swimming, but there’s plenty of other things to enjoy alongside the Pacific, especially beach-combing and people watching. As one of the best Costa Rica beaches, Jaco Beach draws a diverse group of visitors from around the world. There’s a bit of a party vibe at the beach, but families will feel welcome there too.
